Reasons for track gnawing of Crawler Bulldozer excavator carrier roller

Reasons for track gnawing of Crawler Bulldozer excavator carrier roller

Excessive wear of track links when contacting with one side and two side roller rims is called rail gnawing phenomenon. The existence of rail gnawing phenomenon will lead to premature wear of track links, affect the stability of track transmission, and then affect the linear operation of the whole machine, resulting in deviation. If the rail gnawing phenomenon is serious, it will shorten the service life of the walking device and reduce the working efficiency of the bulldozer.
Because the hardness of the roller is greater than that of the track link, the track link is worn first. When the wear is serious, a layer of scrap iron will appear on the platform frame. The method to judge whether the traveling device gnaws the rail. After the bulldozer is used for several hours, observe the internal and external wear of the crawler link. If it is worn and feels smooth without steps, it is normal wear; If the wear is astringent and steps appear, it is rail gnawing.

Rail gnawing is mainly caused by the following reasons:
1、 Manufacturing problems of trolley frame:
In the manufacturing process of the trolley frame, due to various reasons, the axis of the cross beam hole and diagonal brace of the trolley frame is not perpendicular to the center line of the roller mounting hole, resulting in the center line of the left and right trolley frames being not parallel, forming an octagonal side (inner octagonal) or an inverted octagonal side (outer octagonal). When the bulldozer moves forward, the inner side of the track moves (the outer side of the track moves), and when it moves backward, the outer side moves (the inner side of the track moves). The wheels of the roller generate lateral force along the track chain to prevent this lateral movement, resulting in rail gnawing.
Another manufacturing problem of the gantry is that the center of the gantry beam hole and the inclined support hole do not coincide due to processing reasons. If the mounting surface of the roller is used as the benchmark, when the axis of the inclined support hole is higher (or lower) than the axis of the girder hole of the trolley frame, the trolley frame presses the track to the outside (or inside) under the action of the machine weight. When moving, the track moves outward (or to the inside), and the roller wheel prevents this kind of lateral movement, resulting in lateral force and rail gnawing. If the bulldozer moves forward and backward, it is eccentric wear on the same side, which is mostly caused by rail gnawing. This kind of rail gnawing can not be overcome in use, and it can only be solved by replacing the qualified platform frame.
The manufacturing problem of the third kind of platform frame is that the center line of the mounting hole of the supporting wheel of the platform frame is not in a straight line due to processing reasons, and there are many deviations. Whether the bulldozer travels forward or backward, it will cause abnormal wear on both sides of the rail link at the same time, and shorten the service life of the traveling device. It can be solved only by replacing the qualified platform frame.
